Why do instruments look the way they do? When did we settle on the design? It is a general idea that instruments can be seen as bodily extensions but in a very singular sense. What happens when more bodies are required to operate an instrument? When each movement of the performers are entangled?
The Monstrous Multiplayer instrument is a fully modular brass instrument system. Each part connects to each-other with plumbing fittings. During the performance, the musicians put together the instruments in different ways. More than one body is required to operate the system.
